What we did:

Behind the Cellar Door

You didn’t think we were going to Amador County and not going to drink any wine, did you!? That would be a crime, haha. This annual event is a hidden gem, offering a relaxed vibe amidst stunning vineyard landscapes. We loved strolling from winery to winery, meeting passionate winemakers, and sampling their finest wines. We especially enjoyed trying the “blind” wine tasting and guessing which wine we were drinking! This event is a great way to explore wineries you’ve never tried before.

Black Chasm Cavern

Black Chasm Cavern is like stepping into another world—one filled with awe-inspiring rock formations and underground wonders. We had the chance to go underground and explore dimly lit caverns adorned with intricate stalactites and stalagmites. Our tour guide was fantastic and had tons of information about the history of this cavern. You can even see an underground lake! I shared an Instagram Reel about our visit to the cavern and it has over 1 million views! Check it out here!

We had a fantastic weekend exploring Amador County and definitely want to go back soon. Only 45 minutes outside of Sacramento, you can even swing a day trip if you can’t make the entire weekend!

Until next time,

Mads
